Command In Dos to recognize CD ROM on Wi

Have a game that is to be played in DOS. Game plays off a CD. When I go to DOS and try to install DOS cannot recognize my CD ROM. CD ROM is new and operating OK. Having no hardware problems.

Is there a command?
