Components of Networking Services// DNS not included

I was surprised when I tried to install DNS on my computer XP, and found that there were only 3 options under networking services. I tried to remove the DNS client but nothing helped. The only components I see under networking services are: RIP Litsener, Simple TCP/IP services and Universal Plug & PLay. pls help
