Computer Browser service in 2000

Has anyone run into an in-place migration problem from 4.0 to ads; when turning off wins, only to find that the Computer Browser service no longer works across ADS domains? DNS is setup properly with the proper srv records; gc’s are functioning in each domain demontrated by the ability to browse the Directory objects throughout the forest. But try and browse the Microsoft network and no go…only in the local doamin. Any ideas? I suspect it’s and in-place upgrade issue, and MS offers very little info on the browser services departure from netbios in their KB’s
