I have a Netgear FVS338 VPN router installed at work and on my home computer I have installed the Netgear VPN client software. I can log into the work network (small office with 4 computers running) fine using the VPN client software from home and once connected I can connect to my work desktop running windows vista using remote desktop connection no problem. Trouble is that I want to be able to simply browse the shared network folders on my work computer from windows explorer on my home computer (and therefore to be able to use offline files too). Despite being connected up ok I am unable to do this unless I completely disable windows firewall on the work computer. I do not really want to leave windows firewall continually switched off on my work computer and every attempt I’ve made at configuring windows firewall on the work computer using Windows Firewall with Advanced Security (in admin tools) has failed. Does anyone know how I can simply configure windows firewall to allow my home computer access via the Netgear VPN client software (note this software is only installed on the home computer and not on the work computer)
