Configuring a Pix for VPN with IAS

by dschwerr . Updated 24 years, 3 months ago

I am trying to configure a pix firewall to authenticate a VPN client to a RADIUS server. The Radius server is MS IAS.

The event logs on the server tell me the user was authenticated. The problem is the client is getting an error message stating”the connection has timed out waiting for a valid response from the server”.

On my radius server I have the inside interface of the PIX configured as the client. The VPN client connects to the outside interface. The client is getting authenticated but the pix is not getting the response it is expecting.

When I tried setting the client up as the outside interface I got a message stating the request came from an invalid ip address.

Has anyone configure a pix with Microsofts Radius server in this configuration? Any suggestion is appreciated. I have contacted Microsoft and Cisco to no avail.

Thanks,
Dave
