Connected to internet, but browswer wont go to websites.

My internet for my HP desktop stopped working a week ago. It says its connected but the browsers i use wont go to websites. I scanned my computer with avg, malwarebytes, spyboy, an adaware. I did have a trojan, but i believe i got rid of it cuz it doesnt show up n the scans anymore. I also did a reg clean and still no luck. At first it would come back for 10 mins and go rite back to being off. Someone told me the configs or a firewall could be blocking my connection. I Was wondering if i should scan it will something diff, or if something could be done to restore configs, Tried system restore. I really want to restart the hole thing but i do not have the restart cd. Is there anything i can do
