Considering Exchange Server 2000

I am a consultant who has been asked to determine weather or not my client needs to use Exchange 2000 on their network. After about a year of work on the old platform (Out dated Appliance)We will transition to a traditional file server running Windows 2000 Server on the PDC.

Email is currently hosted by the ISP. Plans to bring in a T1 are also n the works.

The network has only 30 nodes..

We are in the process of examining future needs and I feel that the exchange server issue isunnecessary at this time.

Has anyone experienced the same? Adivce and experiences are appreciated.
