Contacts from Outlook do not open in Word?

I am runing Windows 2003 on 2000 OS. Can anyone tell me why Outlook contacts are not available in Word. I have relocated my PST files in my Outlook contacts to a share computer. Do I need to enter Word and re-map or link the Outlook contacts withnin Word? Any held would be appreciated. Thanks.
