Crystal Reports

I am compiling a Graduate Wedding report from Raisers Edgs. Ive got to the stage where I use formulas to list surname if graduate is male and maiden name if graduate is female (plus other wedding info). The report currently lists these two fields one after the other in alphabetical order, so you have all the males listed first e.g. Anderson to Wong followed by the females e.g Allan to Young. However this is not really adequate for our needs. I was wondering if I could somehow get these two fields to be sorted together in alphabetical order. Is this possible?
