D: not accessible

hi,
i have a Tosiba satellite A105, centrino duo, win xp sp2 ME, with a dvd ram drive R/W. I can’t use certian cds because the drive seems not to read them. the message D:\is not accessible pops when i double click on the drive with the cd inserted. Is this an I/O device error and how do i resolve it?
