I haven’t been on TR in about a year (welcome back – ha ha). I’m a new teacher at a school in Houston. The HISD (Houston Indep School Dist.) WAN is DHCP, and I want to peek at the desktops (Win9x) of the students in my school lab at random from myworkstation (Win98) (I could do the winipcfg cheat, I know). I was thinking that a netbios binding to a MAC address would be the best route or NetMeeting since I renamed the PCs to city names in CFMN. Can anyone give me a solution that may allow meto use a WINS-type tool or some similar approach (ala pcAnywhere) w/o a lot of setup headaches? I don’t have permission to access the school’s servers, and I really don’t want it, even though I have been a network admin in a past life. Thanks.
