Amount of data that needs to be protected continues to grow. No one knows the words “purge” or “delete” anymore.
I am always challenged by my management as to whether or not there is a better way to backup close to 100 TB than using tape.
We currently have (2) tape libraries, each with 8 LTO3 tape drives. Looking to expand. We support Windows, HP-UX, VMS, Tru64 Unix, Solaris, and Linux.
Anyone have any ideas other than tape, or disk-to-disk-to-tape. Need to make sure the data is safe and secure. Need to make sure a copy gets off-site.
Would appreciate your thoughts.
