Data Cabling and Electrical Interference

I would be interested to hear from anyone that knows the standards for Keeping cabling (CAT5)at specific distances from Lighting, electric cables, electric motors, etc..
Are there specific distance to keep cable?
Does the electric Conduit preventinterference?
