Data Validation = Black box

User is working with a spreadsheet using Data Validation and wants to use the “Input Message” on a report to show what information should be typed into certain cells. She can put the validation on the cell with no problem. However, when you click on the cell to test the message, you get a black box. You are unable to see any text, and unable to format the box with any other colors.
