DB roles – SQL Server dbo rights

Development environment –
I advocate restricting dbo rights to dba resources only. The application teams feel they need dbo rights in the development environment. I’d like to hear from those with dba and app dev organizations to describe how yourshops manages the application developers rights. The problems I experience are developers not involving DBAs on database design decisions.
