Dell Inspiron 6000 half the screen is not working, help!

my dell inspiron 6000 laptop 15.4 inch lcd screen only displays a picture on the top half of the screen, the bottom is vertical dark blue and black lines. I recently traveled to europe with it in my suitcase, i’m sure they weren’t to fragile with the luggage, anyone know if this is an easy fix, or if I need a new screen?? Thank you
