dell LCD monitor for my PC

My monitor turns white and does not display nothing but a white screen. when i connect the monitor cable to my pc i can see a white line in the middle of the white screen. the white line is about one inch wide in the middle of the white screen ans is harly visible due to the already white screen. can you help?
