Desperate Mouse Situation

by aweaver75 . Updated 18 years, 4 months ago

I tried to install a game on my pc that was compatible with xp, required an 800 mhz processor, and 256mb of RAM. I have 2000 pro, a 233mhz processor, and 128mb of RAM. I didnt know that you couldnt put the game on there. The game did install but my mouse wont work. I uninstalled the game thinking this would correct the problem, but it did not. I bought a new USB mouse, and plugged it in, and ran the driver disc that came with the mouse, but the mouse STILL wont work. And even though I have installed this mouse with the driver, under mouse properties, under hardware, nothing is showing up. What do I do? Please only serious answers, and no comments like get a new computer. I can not afford one. Oh and the computer does not have a ps2 port for a mouse, as long as I have had it, the mice have always connected through a usb port.
