DHCP Reservation Issue

I’m trying to make a reservation for a printer that is connected to an HP JetDirect. I have assigned it a specific IP address from my scope that isn’t in use by another device. I have my supported types as “BOTH”, DHCP and BOOTP. But every morning it renews a different IP address from my scope. For the MAC address I am giving the LAN HW address. i than check the reservations and I see the newly created reservation but it says inactive. Any suggestions.
