Does having Linksys software loaded in you laptop interfere?

Does having Linksys software loaded in your laptop interfere with the normal operation when connectiong to the wireless, secure network? An error message said ” Your saved network settings do not match the network requirements.It does this even when the Linksys Advisor is not running. It connects ok unsecure.
