was at an account today working on a customers network today it was all screwed up xp. 3 xp machines using wireless router and they were logging on to other peoples wireless routers and there fore they could not print to the copier. so i hardwired the 3 machines to the router switch and set up a peer to peer workgroup called workgroup.
the offic mgr came along with her laptop and I wanted to add her to the workgroup. her laptop was a member of a now defunct domain although she always logged in w/ username sdrum on that domain and her password. changed the domain to workgroup and then she could not log on except as administartor.
now all her “my documents” and “email” is gone. tried to change computer back to domain but cannot because the domain is not valid.
in documents and settings we can see her user “sdrum” but there is no my documents. called microsoft and got thru to India with no help. anyone know of a workaround as she is pissed?
