My co-worker and I both use Access (XP) to gather/distribute mounds of data for our company. We are both ‘home-grown’ Access developers, with minimal experience working with VBA for Access. I recently approached my boss about sending the two of us to a VBA for Access training course, to which she hesitantly said she would consider. Today we received this email from her:
[my boss] is putting together a proposal he can review with the new CIO to justify having you attend an Access programming class (Visual Basic). By the end of Wednesday of this week, please send me an email that outlines the reasons you would like to take this class – what are the benefits, what are the types of things you’ll be able to do that you can’t do now or that you’ll be able to do better, more efficiently, etc. Thanks
What I am wondering is: have any of you had to write this kind of proposal before? I am not exactly great with my words, and “you just wouldn’t understand” doesn’t seem like it would go too far.
I would love any comments that would help me explain why this VB training would be beneficial. Thanks in advance for your ‘two cents’ worth!
