duel operating system

I want to install windows 2000pro and linux redhat 7.2 . I have partion the drive 50/50 and installed windows 2000 using FAT. Linux install will prompt me to a list of the drive I am not familiar with this at all. Any information would be great. I dont even mind if I have to reinstall the whole deal. Help me out with mister potato head style teaching.
