DVD on Linux

I just installed Suse Linux 9.1 Personal Edition on my computer. It works nicely and has an easier interface than RedHat. However, even though it detects my DVD drive, it doesn’t play my DVD’s. It’s acting like their isn’t a decoder installed. What can I do to get this to work? Thanks.
