E-mail problems

Most e-mail that I receive is in the correct format. However, I receive e-mails from approximately 3 or 4 people that arrive as pages upon pages of unintelligble gobbledegoop with no pictures and no links to sites they have enclosed. I have no idea whether the problem is with their computer or mine
