EMS DS-16A SAN switch

We just bought an EMC DS-16A SAN switch. I want to console in to the switch using the RJ45 socket. I tried to use RARP and DHCP to apply an IP address to the switch, but with no success. Is anybody out there knows how to configure an IP address to the switch?
