enable access to power options on control panel

by triathlete1981 . Updated 18 years, 8 months ago

I need to change the power options on one user’s laptop so it’ll never prompt for a password, never go into standby, and never turn off the monitor. change the power options, right.

problem is user is not in admin group. so i added him to admin group on laptop. couldn’t chnage power options. got an “access denied” message.

i logged in as the actual admin account and changed the power options, but that didn’t change the power options for the user. i need to gain access to the control panel while logged in under his account to change the power options. a couple icons in control panel i can access provided i supply the admin password, but this is not true for the power options icon.

any help would be appreciated.
