error code 137

A friend of mine has a dell inspiration 7000 laptop. She has a LuxSonor dvd decoder card LS242 and a Maestro PCI audio device. She has tried everything from reinstalling her windows 98, to trying to upload the drivers. She still however gets ERROR CODE 137 when she tries to update the drivers from dell or Luxsonor. The DVD player will go into play mode, but wont intialize.
