Excel 2002, formula with text

I’m trying to write a formula in which text that is in column a will be sent to column d. I have the initials “NS” and “CA” if these show up anywhere in column a I would like it to show up in the same row but in column d. HELP!! Everything I’ve tried has failed. I’ve tried conditional formatting without any success.
