Excel-Removal of Characters

I have a series of data w/ name extentions:
ie
FYPEWSQ.DMWAS
FYPEWSQ.DMLOS
FNMQ.MRIV
FNMQ.MSAN

Is there a formula where i can remove everything after the period??
