Excel sheet problem

Hi,

I am using Win office XP and IE 5.5.
I am runnig a web based application which generates an report on the server and then launches an excel sheet to open the report on IE 5.5.
The browser (IE 5.5) gives an error saying “Microsoft Internet Explorer encountered an error” and then closes the window.

Is there any patch available that needs to be installed on my machine to resolve this problem?
