Exchange 2000 in Windows 2003 AD

The following is the plan:

Active Directory based on Windows Server 2003.
WIndows 2000 member server with Exchange 2000 installed.

Running /forestprep an /domainprep doesn’t help to make above setup possible. Does somebody have a good suggestion?
