Exchange Internet Mail Connector

I have been running Microsoft Exchange for years now and we’ve noticed that our server is getting rather full. Further investigation reveals that there is a large amount of data in the \imcdata directory. This may sound really stupid but can I delete any of these files or are they the source of the messages?

If I can’t can anyone tell me how to free up some space on my server.
