My current mail setup.
We have a Exchange 2003 cluster that is used for internal mail/collaboration. We have a mail appliance used for inboud mail that does an LDAP lookup to forward mail to the Exchange cluster. We have yet a different mail appliance to perform SMTP services. Our Exchange cluster uses a SMTP connector to route mail to the mail appliance which will provide the SMTP service. That’s our environment. Now the issue.
We are trying to use the internal Exchange cluster as our mail host for all of our internal apps that have distribution lists. Our internal apps run on Linux hosts and use send mail. After testing this setup, mail does get to the internal/Exchange users, but not to external users i.e. john_doe@yahoo.com.
Any ideas?
