Exchange mailbox full error [plenty of space left ]

we have Exchange running on MS SBS –
1 of our mailboxes is locked – saying it is full –
it certainly is not full I have even increased the size to 800mb [current size = 408mb ]
but still get errors saying the mailbox is full

any ideas please
