Exchange server replacement

Hi,

Just a minute to share a problem with you. I have got an old Exchange server HW (X) that I want to get replaced with a newer HW (Y).

Well, I installed Exchange w/o problems and set it up as part of my old email system. I have also transferrd all the accounts/groups from my old server (X) to the new one (Y).

Everything worked out fine, except that when I shut down the old server (X) the complete email system slows down really bad *until* I turn the old system back on.

Any ideas will be greatly appreciated,
