Explain this anomaly

by tink! . Updated 17 years, 11 months ago

I have an Access 2003 database. When you enter a Raw Material Cost on the form, it automatically figures out whether the new price is lower or higher than the previous value that was in the field.

Now it works great. Been for over a year now. However, on 2 occasions (1 being today) I have encountered an anomaly where it refuses to say that a particular price has increased. Today’s magic number is 10.09

No matter what lesser number I put in, from zero to 10.08 (no I didn’t try EVERY single number) it will NOT say Increased when I enter 10.09

It WILL say Decreased if I enter a larger number and then put in 10.09

But I need it to say Increased. Ok, NOW it says it! If I put in a lower amount. Then go to the previous record and come back. Reenter 10.09 it FINALLY says Increased.

Weird. 🙂
