Export programs list, port settings, and services.

I need to get the following information exported to excel or a text file:
installed programs/patches/hotfixes
port settings
service settings

This will be done on critical machines, so I would like it to be as simple as possible and prefer not to install any software. Perhaps a simple VB script?

I have heard that add/remove programs isn’t necessarily accurate. What is the most accurate way?
