I have reviewed a lot of products over the last year trying to come up with a solution to faxing from a client pc. Most of these products can get really expensive for a small to midsize company. These products have ranged in price from $2k to $10k for 50 – 100 users.
I would like to know how other companies my size (50-100 users) have dealt with this issue. Mainly what products and configurations you have used to combat this.
We currently have an NT Server configuration for sharing printers and files. Adding a modem is a viable solution for us. However it is finding the software to make this work thats affordable for a small to midsize company.
I just got off the phone with yet another salesman that thinks $10k is affordable for small to midsize companies.
Is anybody using software that has passworded mailboxes or such from an NT server that can be shared throughout the office affordably? Something that will deliver the fax to the right desk without someone else having todo this manually? Software that can spool the fax jobs like any other printer? Software that can keep a client list for the company and also for the individuals?
More importantly software that doesn’t take a small to midsize company to the bank for a long term loan to purchase it? And can save these messages even when the client pc it belongs to is logged off at night?
