File privileges software on WIN2K Pro

We have run into problems with giving users rights to programs without giving them full admin rights to the domain. I have found that if you simply change the registry permissions on the software in local machine under regedt32.exe you can solve this problem that causes programs like ford multimedia and quickbooks pro from being used on a network by regular users.
