Finding CD key info for a workstation

I once read an article about a utility program that finds the CD key info for a workstation. I have to format a hard drive and have all the CD’s but most of the covers are missing.I have tried magical jelly Bean but it only shows MS WIN cd key.
Please somebody else had to see it..
