Firefox freeze

Need a little help, firefox(3.6.3) tends to freeze when ever i attempt to attach a document to an email. However thats not always the case, if firefox has been open for a while(30min) it will also freeze up. I have uninstalled and reinstalled firefox but the issue still remains. Any suggestions??
