Firewall Security

I work for a firm who would like to start doing pre e-commerce exams for select clients. Part of the exam would consist of checking the security of the firewalls in place. It seems like I have heard of some software you can run that will automatically check if your network is secure and give you a report on the findings. Does anyone have any suggestions for what I’m looking for?
