Fix a WinNT Server that won’t boot.

Recently, a Windows NT 4.0 Server would not boot. The server was 1000 miles away in Canada.

I had one of the users there download a copy of a WINTERNALS, http://www.winternals.com, bootable ERD Commander 2002 CD and create a copy of it.

Afterbooting the server up with the CD we were able to edit the registry as discussed on Microsoft’s web site, http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb%3ben-us%3b317189, and fix the server in about 30 minutes.

The WINTERNALS software has paidfor itself 100’s of times over since we purchased it.
