In the US, you don’t have to join a union if you don’t want to. But some people, like these two, choose to take a job that has Union membership as a requirement.
Some jobs require you to join a specific church, or to advocate a particular political position, or simply have a degree in a particular field. But in each case, you have the CHOICE to work that job.
