Free drivers for non MSF supported OS

Alrighty, very new here to this forum but have stubled upon a situation where my DVD burner will not play a UDF formatted disk. Now that the Micro Boys are not supporting XP I feel ‘DUMPED’ in this vast ocean of cyber-gook created by MicroSoft inc. How do I get a free decoder? Hopefully I have stated that well enough where somebody with more ability than I can understand and offer a suggestion…a 5th grader perhaps???
