FreeDisk.Exe is not Accurate! :-(

by anothernetadmin . Updated 23 years, 10 months ago

I’m writing a batch file to synchronize some files between our Servers and some client Laptops. I want to verify drive space before doing this becasue a full synchronization could be 4+ gigs… I am trying to use the FreeDisk.Exe utility in the Windows Resource Kits (NT and 2000) but it seems it’s reporting in error.

On my C drive I have 9,455,374,336 Bytes free but the maximum number that I can enter into FreeDisk and get an “enough space” message is 865,775,616

My D drive has 23,389,642,752 bytes free but FreeDisk again only give me an “Enough Space” message if the switch equals 1,914,806,272 bytes.

I have not been able to find any relation between the numbers. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks
Mike
