From Tech Support to Technical Sales

A while back there was an article regarding moving into a Sales postion from a technical support role. I am applying for a technical sales job, but don’t have much sales experience, however I believe that through my role as an IT Support Professional, I have developed customer service skills that are applicable.
Can you either repost that article, or provide me some helpful hints to sell myself in a position such as this?
