From Windows to Mac

This is not a Windows vs Mac, discussion. This is a discussion of being in a business Windows World, and introducing the Mac Platform. Mac does not have Access (the program), How easy is it to “join the Domain”? How do you get around “windows only”, software? I need to secure a new laptop, I live in a windows world, I have been in IT for a while (over 20). Trying to look at all the possible problems. Thanks in advance..
