future

i am an indian working in singapore on perl from past 1.5 months. But now a days i am very much worried about my job as lot of people are leaving the company(or the company removing them, i don’t know). For me, to be on safe side i want to know whether working on perl is safe or better switch to java or other advanced technologies. What is the future of perl programmers?
